ANDREW DOELL, MSPT, OCS

Andrew has been providing physical therapy to the San Diego area for more than 20 years.  Before moving here, he earned both his Bachelor of Science in Health Studies and Master of Science in Physical Therapy degrees from Boston University. Over the course of his career he has completed numerous continuing education courses to enhance his clinical skills and provide the most up to date treatment techniques available.   He is especially proud of passing a rigorous, additional board examination to earn the distinction of being an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties.  Only 5% of physical therapists in the U.S. can claim this distinction.  This board certified specialization requires its recipients to obtain advanced education in order to employ the latest evidence based practice.  This ensures patients and clients will get treatment that is up to date and proven to work.

Andrew believes a balanced treatment approach is the best way to help people reach their goals.  He is always willing to change course when he doesn't see the expected changes needed to help someone breakthrough their limitations.  No singular approach works for everyone.  An experienced professional knows how and when to make changes and, in some cases, when help outside their scope of expertise is needed.

Andrew has been certified in the Titleist Performance Institute’s golf fitness instructor program, has been a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, is certified to perform the Functional Movement Screen and Y Balance Tests, and is a Credentialed Clinical Instructor through the American Physical Therapy Association.

Being involved in professional organizations supporting physical therapy is important.  Andrew is an active member of the the American Physical Therapy Association including the Orthopedic Chapter, and the California Physical Therapy Association.

At home, Andrew enjoys spending time exploring San Diego with his two daughters and girlfriend, Lisa. He also is active in doing Spartan races, running events, camping, hiking, killing his vegetable garden, and picking up after his dog Dunkin.
